How is your Body Feeling Today?

Massage therapy offers far more than momentary relaxation. It can play an important role in reducing pain, improving circulation and mobility, supporting injury recovery, and calming an overworked nervous system. Regular bodywork helps release chronic tension, increase body awareness, and support the body’s natural healing processes especially during periods of stress, injury, or transition.

Just as importantly, massage creates space to reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe, empowering, and restorative, rather than overwhelming. By working with both the physical body and the nervous system, massage therapy can support emotional regulation, improved sleep, and a greater sense of ease and resilience in daily life.

My intention is not to offer quick fixes or temporary relief, but to provide meaningful, individualized support that contributes to your long-term well-being, helping you feel more comfortable, capable, and at home in your body over time.

Testimonials

“I've been receiving regular massages from Janet over the last year and what sets her apart from others is truly how well she knows the human body. She not only does she helps you relax, she knows exactly what to do, and it feels amazing she also gives incredible guidance and suggestions for you to continue to care for your body and pain in between massages. She suggests and demonstrates stretches, tools, and exercises that can assist your body in reducing pain and stretching so that your body can be in much better shape moving forward.” Holly H.

Ashiatsu Massage

Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique where I use my feet to apply slow, broad, and consistent pressure across larger muscle groups. Because the pressure is distributed over a wider surface area than hands or thumbs, Ashiatsu allows me to provide deep tissue work without the sharp or pinpoint pressure that some people find uncomfortable in traditional massage.

I often recommend Ashiatsu for clients who enjoy deeper pressure, have larger muscle groups, or feel like traditional massage never quite gets deep enough. The broad compression created by Ashiatsu can help release chronic muscle tension, support circulation, and encourage lymphatic and fluid movement throughout the body. Many clients find it particularly helpful for areas like the back, hips, and legs, where deeper work can improve mobility and reduce long-standing tension patterns.

Ashiatsu can also be very regulating for the nervous system. The steady, evenly distributed pressure provides a form of deep pressure stimulation, which many people find grounding and calming. This type of sensory input is similar to the comforting feeling many experience from weighted blankets or firm compression, helping the body shift into a more relaxed, parasympathetic state.

Although Ashiatsu allows me to work deeply, my goal is always to keep the experience slow, controlled, and comfortable rather than painful. I use overhead bars for balance and control, which allows me to easily adjust pressure based on your comfort and preferences throughout the session.

You may especially enjoy Ashiatsu if you:

  • Prefer deep pressure massage

  • Carry chronic tension in the back, hips, or legs

  • Want effective deep tissue work without sharp thumb pressure

  • Respond well to steady compression or grounding pressure

  • Are looking for a massage that supports both muscle relief and nervous system relaxation

About Me

For over 27 years, I’ve helped people feel more comfortable in their bodies by reducing pain, restoring mobility, and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal.

My approach blends anatomical knowledge with intuitive listening, allowing me to tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, navigating stress or trauma, or simply wanting to move and feel better in your body, my work is designed to support you where you are and help you move toward where you want to be.

I have extensive experience working in medical and rehabilitation settings and collaborating with healthcare professionals, which informs the clinical foundation of my work. At the same time, I honor the less measurable aspects of healing the nervous system, emotional holding patterns, and the body’s innate intelligence. My work is both science-based and intuitive, grounded in safety, presence, and deep respect for each client.

I am trauma-informed and committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for all bodies. My practice is fully accessible and includes an oversized massage table with a 500-pound weight capacity, so every client can feel supported, comfortable, and welcome.

In addition to my work as a massage therapist, I am also a licensed special education teacher with experience supporting individuals with sensory sensitivities, disabilities, psychiatric conditions, autism, and people across the neurodivergent spectrum. This background shapes the way I approach my practice, helping me create sessions that respect different communication styles, nervous systems, and sensory needs.

My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can show up exactly as you are. You don’t need to feel like you have to perform, mask, or explain yourself here. Whether you need quiet, clear communication, adjustments for sensory comfort, or simply a space where you feel accepted and supported, I will meet you with respect, compassion, and care.

I am also continuing my education and currently working toward my Nurse Practitioner (NP) degree. Expanding my clinical knowledge allows me to deepen the level of care I provide and continue supporting my clients with a thoughtful, whole-person approach to health and healing.
